Topic: The Just Shall Live by Faith ( Part 12).
Text: Romans 1: 16 – 17.
Declare : For me and my family, we receive a special blessing from the Lord through His Word.
Message One of the characteristics of living things is growth. So many things that are connected to life need to grow, too; particularly our Faith. Your growth as a Christian is not measured by the number of years you have spent in Christ but by your growth in faith. We are expected to grow in faith as this is connected to other areas of our lives 1 Peter 3:18. When you grow in faith, you grow in grace.
We have been talking about the categories of faith in our previous teachings which are;
no faith, little faith, weak faith, wavering faith, strong faith and great faith. Hebrews 11: 8-12
Life is in phases and every great level you desire requires faith and before you get to these levels, your faith will be tested and a lot of people fail at this stage. Even Jesus went through trials before the fulfillment of destiny James 1: 12-13.
To grow in Faith you need;
The trial of faith: 1 Peter 1:7, 1 Peter 4: 12-13 Your faith will be tested for it to grow. Trials can come in various circumstances and faith comes with instructions and the moment you begin to disobey the instructions, you begin to fail.
Temptation of lust: Apart from being tried, your lust and enticement will tempt you against obeying the instructions of faith.
Testimony of the gospel: You need to proclaim the testimony of the gospel Romans 1:16-17.
Declare: By His grace and mercy, I overcome every temptation.
What do I do to grow?
Hold on to the gospel: Remember his death and resurrection and the salvation Jesus brought Rom 1:16-17, 2 Tim 2: 10 Preach the gospel using your online platforms.
Hold on to the truth: Jesus is the truth, the way and the life. The truth will always glorify God and will be confirmed by the Holy spirit.
Hold on to the Word: 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15 When your faith is tried, hold on to the Word just like Jesus did when He was tempted, that is why it is important to study the Word of God. What you don’t know is greater than you.
Declare: I will grow in faith.
Hold on to the promise: 2Corinthians 1:20, Matthew 28:20, John 14:1 His promises never fades.
Hold on to His salvation: You must hold on to salvation because the devil is against it Psalms 25:5, Phillipians 2:12. Backsliding is a gradual process 1 Thessalonians 5:9.
Hold on to victory
Declare: Jesus has given me victory, I am victorious, I am more than a conqueror 1 John 5:4, 1 Corinthians 15:57.
Hold on to eternal reward: There is an eternal reward for every mone. Hold on to it when you are enticed Ephesians 2:6, Revelations 3:11, Colossians 3:24.
Declare: I will not lose my crown.
Are you growing in faith or decreasing in faith? What is your level of faith?
When you grow in faith; you grow in wisdom, you grow in grace and experience.
God does not tempt us, He tries us.
Declare: I will grow in faith, I will hold on to the gospel, the truth, the Word, the promise, His salvation, the victory and His eternal reward.
